The Department of the Capital is located in the northwest of the
province of Mendoza.
Although it presents a semi-desert climate, the city of Mendoza
is an Oasis City, which lies in the artificial irrigation a
result of the work and effort of many Mendocinos the
fundamentals of their existence. Therefore, its trees and parks,
the acequias (canals along the sidewalk), the wide sidewalks and

Together with the departments of Las Heras, Guaymallén, Godoy
Cruz, and the urban areas of Maipú and Lujan, creates the Great
Mendoza, constituting the fourth urban population agglomerate
