Days: Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Time: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. (approximately).
Important spot in the mountains located North of our province, in Las Heras district, where the
beauty of the place, the mineral water springs and the environment changed by Man have made
Villavicencio into a very special place.
The road is also loaded with history since it is the same one that General San Martin once used with
a glorious army and the switch-backs on the road give a special motivation.
Leaving
Mendoza city, we visit the Historic Field 'El Plumerillo', where the troops of the
liberating army were prepared. Continuing our trip on Provincial Route Nº 52, we see Canota Monument
and the incomparable scenery with its native flora and fauna and the stunning view of the foothills
of Mendoza where we will visit the rangers post. Continuing our trip to the North, we head towards
Villavicencio Valley, famous for the mineral water that can be taken from the area. In this place,
we visit the old hotel which was open from 1940 and its chapel. After a hike through the gardens we
get to a panoramic view point that lets us admire Villavicencio valley and the foothills of the
Andes, a beautiful place to enjoy the view and the special atmosphere that you can breathe: one of
the purest in the country.
If the conditions of the road are alright (in winter there can be ice), we can go higher on the
switch-backs and get to an incomparable panoramic point.
The tour ends as we go back to Mendoza.
