LOS PUQUIOS
It is the first snow park of the province. The snow parks are different from the big
ski resorts because their area and structure are smaller and are directed to the entire family. They
have a variety of recreational activities to do in the snow. Los Puquios is located at 180 kilometres
(111,85 miles) away from the city of Mendoza, of international route Nº 7. It has a snow garden, which
is a closed and exclusive area for the little ones to learn and have fun. It has its own means of
elevation, a heated cabin for recreational activities, and games for children, inflatable castles for
children to play in, obstacles slopes, toys and educational elements for the snow.
It also has a nursery school, a fun park, 'tubing' slopes ('tubing' is sliding down the slopes on
special big rubber soles and it is one of the most fun and exciting activities to share with all the
family), toboggan slopes, ski and snowboard school, 'carving' equipments, cafeteria, a small market,
terrace and picnic area, parking lot inside the premises, safety equipments and controls at the slopes
as well as an assistance to transfer someone to the base or to nursing.
Los Puquios, is a word in the Quechua language which means 'pure and crystal-clear water spring'.
It describes the natural existence of a mineral water spring inside the premises where the park is
located.
Ski slopes and means of elevation:
It has 11 ski slopes of different levels: very easy (beginners and children), easy to intermediate, 3
'tubing' slopes with three levels of difficulty and 1 toboggan slope.
