Protected areas are places that were selected to be kept
and preserved as a resource, due to their relevance for
their beauty, recreation importance, biodiversity,
genetic richness, or natural heritage, constituting a
useful testimony when compared to degraded areas.
Besides that, the cultural value has to be added, as
well as the importance for the environment education,
scientific investigation, and also as a tool to promote.
