Independencia Theater is the main and most prestigious theatrical
place of the province, thought to perform local productions and to
program national and international shows.
It was opened on November 18th, 1.925 and since then,
first class artists of different genres have performed on its stage
letting people from Mendoza be enriched by the best local and
foreign art.
After an integral restoration, it was reopened in 2.003 and it
offers great technical possibilities and comforts.

It has a maximum capacity of 100 seats, depending on how much space
on stage is used. The orchestra has four movable stands with a
system of non fixed wheels, which make it possible to have bigger
mobility in the place.
The space used ‘to the Italian way’ is 6 mts. (19,60 feet) wide, 8
mts. ( 26 feet) deep and 4,30 mts (14 feet) high up to the lights.
Behind the stage, on a metal structure with movable wooden
walls, the space for dressing rooms and restrooms for the actors is
created on the lower part and above that one, a warehouse for
scenography and lighting. These facilities can be used as spaces on
scene which make it possible to create interesting alternatives on
stage.

The ‘Cine Teatro Plaza’ (Plaza Theater and Cinema) has been part of
the landscape of Godoy Cruz district since 1.946. It is located in a
strategic point of the Greater Mendoza. Five minutes away from
Mendoza City, it is on 27 Colon St. across from the main square of
Godoy Cruz district. It is considered one of the most important
places for holding academic and theatrical events as well as
musicals. It has a capacity for 1,000 people and all the comforts of
the main theaters of the country.
Capacity: First floor: 681 numbered seats. Distribution: 25 rows.
Main hall and two lateral halls.
Higher floor: 319 numbered seats. Distribution: main hall and two
lateral halls.
